A seminar was organized for the students of our Vocational School to raise awareness about violence against healthcare workers. During the event, the causes, types, and consequences of violence in healthcare were discussed.
Within the scope of the seminar, it was emphasized that incidents of violence faced by healthcare workers are not only individual but also have systemic and societal dimensions. In particular, patient and relatives’ expectations, heavy workload, communication deficiencies, and long waiting times were highlighted as major factors triggering violence.
Participants were informed about current approaches to preventing violence in healthcare, relevant legal regulations, and the White Code system. In addition, information was provided regarding the rights of healthcare workers, procedures to follow in cases of violence, and legal processes.
The seminar, which attracted significant interest from students, underscored that ensuring the safety of healthcare workers is an integral part of delivering quality healthcare services, and emphasized the importance of increasing awareness. The event concluded after an exchange of views with the students.
