The ceremony, held at the Nezahat Keleşoğlu Conference Hall of the Ahmet Keleşoğlu Faculty of Theology, was attended by Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye Cevdet Yılmaz, Governor of Konya İbrahim Akın, AK Party Konya Member of Parliament Ziya Altunyaldız, our Rector Prof. Dr. Cem Zorlu, university administrators, protocol members, academics, and students.

Delivering the opening speech, our Rector Prof. Dr. Cem Zorlu emphasized the responsibility of universities in terms of scientific production, educating qualified individuals, and contributing to society. He also referred to the progress our University has made in recent years in the fields of education, research, and academic development.

During the program, AK Party Konya Member of Parliament Ziya Altunyaldız highlighted the important role of universities in shaping the future of the country, while Governor of Konya İbrahim Akın shared his remarks on Necmettin Erbakan University’s scientific productivity, academic experience, and contributions to the city. The speakers expressed their wishes for a successful and productive 2026–2027 Academic Year for both academics and students.

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, who delivered the Opening Lecture of the 2026–2027 Academic Year, addressed the importance of higher education in Türkiye’s scientific, technological, and economic development. He emphasized the importance of aligning universities’ research and educational activities with the needs of the country, enabling students to benefit effectively from practical training opportunities, and strengthening qualified human resources.

The ceremony, which was also attended by the academic staff of our Vocational School, concluded with a presentation of gifts following the opening lecture and a group photo. We wish the new academic year to bring success and productivity to our University, our Vocational School, our academic and administrative staff, and all our students.
