A seminar titled “Biodiversity in Turkey” was organized at our Vocational School to enhance students’ environmental awareness and to foster a sense of responsibility toward the conservation of natural resources.
Within the scope of the seminar, the rich diversity of flora and fauna in Türkiye was discussed in relation to its geographical location and the variety of ecosystems shaped by different climatic conditions. It was emphasized that the country’s position at the intersection of three major phytogeographical regions significantly contributes to its high level of endemism.

The seminar also highlighted that biodiversity is not only crucial for maintaining ecological balance but also plays a vital role in health, the economy, and sustainable development. Particular attention was drawn to the impact of conserving natural resources on public health, especially for students receiving education in the healthcare field.

Furthermore, key threats to biodiversity—such as habitat loss, climate change, pollution, and unsustainable consumption—were addressed, and participants were informed about possible measures to mitigate these challenges. The importance of raising environmentally conscious individuals was once again underscored, with students actively engaging in the session.
