Training on the Prevention of Laboratory Errors
Errors that directly affect the accuracy and reliability of analytical results in laboratory practices were comprehensively addressed in a training program organized for this purpose. The training, delivered by Lecturer Hayrullah Evci, focused on preanalytical, analytical, and postanalytical errors that are frequently encountered throughout laboratory processes.
Within the scope of the training, potential sources of error arising from all stages—from sample collection to result reporting—were thoroughly discussed, along with their possible impacts on test outcomes and the measures that can be taken to prevent them. Emphasis was placed on the importance of laboratory personnel being aware of potential risks in their professional practices in order to ensure analytical reliability.

Participants were also informed about corrective and preventive actions that can be implemented to identify errors at an early stage, manage processes effectively, and maintain sustainable quality standards. At the end of the training, it was highlighted that minimizing error rates plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of laboratory services and ensuring patient safety.
This training contributed to increasing students’ professional awareness and supported the development of a more systematic and conscious approach to laboratory practices.
