TÜBİTAK 1002 – Project Support

The project titled “Synthesis of Environmentally Friendly Ag₂O Nanoparticle-Doped Cellulose/PVA Biocomposites from Algae and Investigation of Their Antibacterial Properties”, conducted under the leadership of Lecturer Alican Bahadır Semerci from Ereğli Vocational School of Health Services, has been granted support within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 1002 – Rapid Support Program.

The project will be carried out under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tuğba Ongun Sevindik from Sakarya University, with Prof. Dr. Keziban Atacan from Sakarya University of Applied Sciences participating as a researcher.

Biocomposites produced from cellulose obtained from algal biomass offer an environmentally friendly material due to their biodegradable nature, while also contributing to a green and sustainable economic approach. These bio-based materials, which possess high commercial value and multifunctional application areas, are expected to provide significant benefits to the industry.
