An informative seminar on waste management and recycling, which are of great importance for environmental and public health, was organized by the NEFES Student Community operating within our Vocational School.
The seminar was conducted with the contributions of Beyza Gülperi Uygun, a member of the NEFES Student Community and a student of the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program, and Lecturer Alican Bahadır Semerci, one of our academic staff. The event addressed the classification of medical waste, proper segregation methods, and the processes of collection, transportation, and disposal.
During the presentation, the importance of effective waste management in healthcare institutions was emphasized, and attention was drawn to the potential adverse effects of improper practices on environmental and human health. It was aimed to raise awareness among participants regarding sustainable environmental practices and to enhance their sense of professional responsibility.
