Our students attended the seminar titled "What Is Your Inner Self Saying? Psychology, the Subconscious, and Illnesses."
The subconscious refers to the deep psychological processes in the human mind that are generally not consciously perceived, yet significantly influence individuals' behaviors, thoughts, and emotions. This area, which lies outside conscious thought processes, is shaped by personal past experiences, conscious thoughts, and emotional responses. The concept of the subconscious holds an important place in fields such as psychology and psychiatry and plays a key role in understanding individuals' mental states and behaviors.
In the seminar, presented by Furkan KÜÇÜKKARAMAN, a first-year student in the Medical Imaging Techniques Program, the science of psychology, its historical development, and the concept of the subconscious were discussed. Lecturer Burak ŞEN talked about psychosomatic disorders caused by subconscious-related psychological conditions and their effects on the human body. He also emphasized the impact of the subconscious on human physiology by sharing examples from clinical cases he has encountered in his professional experience.
