Scientific and technological research and development activities are based on stages such as collecting data using the most appropriate data collection method, analysing it using appropriate methods, and interpreting the results of this analysis. As a result of scientific and technological progress, data has become the most fundamental concept in the digitalised world, and efforts to transform data into information have become more important. The need to obtain the right data with the right methods, to model them, to analyse them with the right methods and to interpret the results correctly has further highlighted the importance of statistics. Methodological problems in academic studies, failure to analyse the data using the correct method, failure to consider assumptions, failure to use the appropriate sampling method and number, failure to choose the appropriate methods of analysis, make it questionable how reliable or valid the studies are and how generalisable they are. Considering the fact that the completion of all these stages requires expertise and the difficulties that researchers face in managing these stages alone, the Statistics and Data Analysis Department has been established within the Scientific Publications Coordination Office of Necmettin Erbakan University.
