Vıce Dean (Associate Professor Segah TEKİN)

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Segâh TEKİN

Segâh Tekin was born in İstanbul in 1981. She graduated from Selçuk University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of International Relations in 2002. She worked at the Konya Chamber of Industry (2004-2008) as an expert and coordinator in EU-funded projects. She participated in training courses in Turkey and Belgium. She received her MA degree in International Relations from Selçuk University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of International Relations on a thesis titled “Ethics and Humanitarian Intervention: Discourse, Myths, and Facts” (2010) and received her PhD degree, supported by the TÜBİTAK 2211 Scholarship Programme and Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK) from the same department on a thesis titled  “Brazilian Foreign Policy: Trends and Transformations” (2016). Her PhD dissertation focused on Brazil as a regional power in South America, based on research and interviews conducted in Brazil at the University of São Paulo/Institute of International Relations. Tekin worked as a research assistant at Selçuk University, Department of International Relations (2008-2011). She has been working at Necmettin Erbakan University, Department of Political Science and International Relations since 2011 and received her associate professor degree in 2020. Her research interests and publications include a variety of topics, mainly focusing on Latin American and Iberian countries and humanitarian issues in international relations.
