Department of Mathematics and Science Education

The Department of Mathematics and Science Education currently continues its activities through five academic divisions: Science Education, Physics Education, Mathematics Education, Chemistry Education, and Biology Education.

In all divisions, an educational program is implemented that includes subject matter knowledge, subject matter education, pedagogical content knowledge, general culture courses, and elective courses. In addition, the department’s divisions also carry out graduate-level education and training activities within the Institute of Educational Sciences at Necmettin Erbakan University.

Graduates of the department’s divisions can work as teachers in public and private educational institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education.

As of the 2025–2026 academic year, the department has a total of 651 students, including 42 in Biology Education, 163 in Science Education, 71 in Physics Education, 68 in Chemistry Education, and 307 in Mathematics Education.

In the same period, the academic staff of the Department of Mathematics and Science Education consists of 32 Professors, 5 Associate Professors, 3 Assistant Professors (PhD), and 2 Research Assistants, carrying out education, teaching, and research activities.
