The duration of Erasmus+ Student Study Mobility is a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 12 months. For internship mobility, the duration is at least 2 months and at most 12 months. Our university determines the maximum duration based on available quotas.
How Can I Apply for Erasmus Study Mobility?
You can apply online for mobility by regularly checking the Erasmus Office website when applications open.
Can I Go to Any University in Europe as an Erasmus Student?
No. You can only go to universities that have a bilateral agreement with your program or department. You can check the universities that have agreements with your department [here].
What is a Bilateral Agreement?
It is an agreement signed between two universities under the Erasmus+ program, committing to student (associate, undergraduate, graduate, doctoral) and/or staff exchanges for one year or longer.
Can I Start Correspondence to Establish a Bilateral Agreement for My Department?
No. Correspondence for bilateral agreements is handled by department/faculty/institute coordinators and/or the International Relations Coordinators. However, if your desired university does not have an agreement, you can notify the Erasmus Office to request establishing one.
Can I Go to a University That Has an Agreement Only with the University, But Not My Department?
No. Erasmus students can only go to universities that have a bilateral agreement with their department.
What is a Learning Agreement?
The Learning Agreement is a document listing the courses (name, code, and ECTS credits) a student will take at the host university. It must be signed by the coordinators of both the sending and receiving institutions.
Before leaving for abroad, the Learning Agreement must be signed by the department and institution coordinators of both universities. When submitting the document to our office, make sure it is signed by your department coordinator.

When Should I Apply for a Visa?
After being selected as an Erasmus student, contact the consulate or embassy of your host country immediately. Visa issuance in some countries may take up to 3 months.

The host university is not obliged to provide accommodation, but most universities assist Erasmus students with housing and provide information before the academic term begins.

When Will I Receive My Erasmus Grant?
Payments are made in two installments. If the total grant exceeds 135 days, the first payment is 80% of 135 days, transferred to the university account by the National Agency. The second installment is calculated at the end of the mobility period based on the actual participation dates in the Participation Certificate and passport entry-exit pages. Students who fail to fulfill responsibilities may have payments partially or fully withheld, or previously made payments may be reclaimed.
What Are the Failure Criteria for Erasmus Study Mobility?
The reduction in grant due to failure is determined by the host institution, ranging from 5% to 100% of the mobility days. The institution must specify the deduction criteria and inform students in advance, including provisions in the grant agreement, applying equal and transparent standards for all participants.
What is the Online Linguistic Support (OLS)?
The European Commission provides the Online Linguistic Support system for students participating in higher education mobility. It is available in languages such as German, French, Dutch, Italian, English, Spanish, Czech, Danish, Greek, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish, Bulgarian, Finnish, Croatian, Hungarian, Romanian, and Slovak. Students performing mobility in these languages must participate in OLS unless it is their native language. OLS includes mandatory language tests and optional online courses.
What Are the OLS Exams?
Students selected for study or internship mobility must take OLS exams before and after the mobility. The exam is conducted in the language in which the student will study or complete the internship. Multiple mobility periods require separate exams for each activity.
What is the Erasmus Participant Survey (EU Survey)?
The EU Survey is an online questionnaire completed by students using the Mobility Tool, after completing their mobility activities.
Will There Be Penalties for Not Completing OLS Exams or the EU Survey?
Yes. Students who do not complete the mandatory OLS exams before and after mobility or the participant survey may face a deduction of up to 5% of their grant.
Will I Attend an Orientation Program at the Host University?
Yes. Almost all universities organize an orientation program for Erasmus students to help them adapt to the university and local education system.
Can I Change Courses After Completing the Learning Agreement?
Yes. After your Learning Agreement is approved by your faculty, you can make course changes through the “Exchange Add-drop” option in the e-petition system.
Will I Have the Same Technical and Social Facilities as Local Students?
Yes. You will have equal access to facilities such as laboratories. Paid facilities for local students (e.g., photocopies) will also apply to you under the same conditions.
How Much Erasmus+ Grant Will I Receive?
The monthly grant varies by country and may not cover all expenses. Current grant amounts can be checked [here].
Do the Courses I Take Abroad Need to Have Equivalents at My Home University?
Yes. All courses taken abroad must have equivalents at your home university. The total ECTS credits for a semester must be at least 30. The number of courses may vary by university. Matching course content is prioritized over course names.
How Do I Contact My Host University?
You can get contact information from the Erasmus Office and reach out via email.
How Are Erasmus Students Selected?
Selection is based on 50% academic GPA and 50% language score to calculate an overall success score. Students are ranked from highest to lowest, forming a primary and backup list, which is announced on the Erasmus Office website. Special cases in scoring can be checked.
