Applications for the 2026 National Internship Program Have Started

The National Internship Program is an early-career initiative launched under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, supported by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, and coordinated by the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR). The program aims to enable young talents to benefit from career opportunities offered by public institutions and private sector organizations.

Through this program, the primary goals are to:

  • Enhance the employability of young individuals,

  • Promote equal access to career opportunities, and

  • Expand these opportunities to students from all university departments.

Applicants to the National Internship Program are evaluated through a transparent and innovative scoring system that takes into account their academic performance, extracurricular development efforts, and overall achievements. The evaluation is based on three main competency categories: academic/professional, artistic/social, and athletic.

Employers submit their internship offers based solely on the scores achieved in these competency areas—without access to students' identities or university information—ensuring a fair and objective matching process.

Recognized both nationally and internationally, the program has also been highlighted as a best practice by the OECD, offering thousands of students the opportunity to gain work experience while still studying and to build early career awareness.
