An important seminar was organized at our Vocational School to raise awareness among students about substance addiction. In the seminar, Social Worker Betül Palta from the Green Crescent Counseling Center (YEDAM) met with students and provided comprehensive training on the topic of addiction.
The seminar covered a range of key questions in detail, including: “What is addiction?”, “Who becomes addicted?”, “How can addiction be recognized?”, “What is the course of addiction?”, “What are addictive substances?”, and “What is the role of the family in addiction?”. In addition, information was shared about YEDAM’s activities, the psychosocial support services it offers, and the application process for receiving help.
The seminar, which drew strong interest from students, made a significant contribution to raising both individual and social awareness in the fight against addiction. At the end of the event, Betül Palta was thanked for her valuable contributions, and it was stated that similar awareness-raising activities will continue.
