Aim of the Department

The Department of Biotechnology at Necmettin Erbakan University aims to equip students with the ability to develop scientific and innovative solutions through a deep understanding of biological systems, living organisms, and their technological applications. Our department strives to educate well-equipped individuals who can contribute to the development of biotechnological applications applicable in diverse fields such as healthcare, agriculture, environment, and industry.

Biotechnology is a multidisciplinary science that goes beyond experimental studies conducted in laboratory settings; it aims to improve human quality of life, contribute to environmental sustainability, and provide solutions to societal problems. In this context, our goal is for students to gain both theoretical knowledge and advanced laboratory skills, becoming competent in areas such as molecular biology, genetic engineering, microbiology, bioinformatics, and bioprocess technologies.

Additionally, one of the department’s primary objectives is to train experts who are committed to ethical principles, closely follow scientific developments, and possess the qualifications to compete on a global scale.
