Department Mission
Our mission is to educate creative engineers who possess the knowledge, skills, and competencies to work across all sectors, compete at an international level, apply the most efficient production techniques, understand accurate decision-making methods, and have the necessary expertise to develop these methods.
Career Opportunities
The field of Industrial Engineering covers the management, improvement, and design of all systems within the manufacturing and service sectors. Therefore, our graduates have the advantage of being able to work across a wide range of industries.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) define the qualities expected of our graduates within a few years after graduation. According to the PEOs set by our department, our Industrial Engineering undergraduate graduates are expected to:
Work in engineering, research and development, operations, project leadership, and management positions in national and international companies within the manufacturing and service sectors;
Analyze, design, improve, control, and operate systems and processes with a systems perspective;
Collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams;
Conduct original scientific research and pursue graduate studies in Industrial Engineering or related disciplines in Türkiye or abroad, and contribute to academia or research institutions;
Continue their professional development through workshops, training/certificate programs, and independent studies;
Establish or transform companies that meet the evolving needs of technology, society, and industry, and demonstrate leadership in change management;
Adapt to changing conditions in their career paths with lifelong learning skills;
Fulfill their professional duties in accordance with the highest standards of ethics and social responsibility.
Graduates of our program will be able to:
Demonstrate adequate knowledge in mathematics, science, and industrial engineering-specific topics; apply theoretical and practical knowledge to solve complex engineering problems.
Identify, define, formulate, and solve complex industrial engineering problems; select and apply appropriate analysis and modeling methods.
Design a complex system, system component, process, or product to meet specified requirements, considering realistic constraints and conditions involving people, materials, information, equipment, energy, and finance; apply modern design techniques for this purpose.
Develop, select, and use modern techniques and tools necessary for analyzing and solving complex engineering problems; effectively utilize information technologies.
Design and conduct experiments, collect data, analyze and interpret results, and ensure continuous improvement for the investigation of complex industrial engineering problems or research topics.
Work effectively both individually and in disciplinary and interdisciplinary teams.
Communicate effectively in oral and written forms; write effective reports in English, comprehend written reports, prepare design and production reports, deliver effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
Recognize the need for lifelong learning; access information, follow developments in science and technology, and continually update themselves.
Act in accordance with ethical principles and develop an awareness of professional and ethical responsibility; have knowledge of standards used in engineering practices.
Demonstrate skills in project management, risk management, and change management within the scope of developing systems based on entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable development.
Be aware of the impacts of engineering practices on health, environment, and safety on a universal and societal scale; recognize contemporary issues reflected in the field of engineering and have an awareness of the legal consequences of engineering solutions.
