Our University Held the Higher Education Quality Board External Evaluation Process Meeting

Our Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Prof. Dr. Ali Kahraman, made a presentation at the meeting and informed the audience by making a general summary about the external evaluation process.

Kahraman said the following about the Higher Education Quality Board External Evaluation process: “The most important thing here is the planning, implementation, control and precautionary stages. We absolutely have to complete these stages in all the activities we have carried out. If it remains only in the planning or implementation stage, we will have weaknesses in reaching our goals. This process must definitely be applied in all our goals.”

Our Vice Rector responsible for the quality external evaluation process, Prof. Dr. Önder Kutlu, also stated that they were among the universities that voluntarily applied to receive external evaluation and continued as follows: “We are a rapidly developing university. We also need to make our own internal evaluation by presenting what we have done in the external evaluation process. I would like to state that this meeting is important for us to plan ourselves for the future.”

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker, stating that Turkey is experiencing this experience recently, said; “Since the beginning of this experience, I have taken part in both the establishment stages of the quality board and previous activities. These duties are carried out within the framework of the decisions taken by the Higher Education Quality Board to improve institutions. Certain teams are sent to each university, and these teams subject the university to an evaluation within the framework of quality in line with the information we provide. We record our problems and present them to the other party. It is desired that everyone's opinion is included in this presentation, from our students to our professors, from our administrators to our local stakeholders outside.” Şeker, who also stated that quality processes have been ongoing in the world for a long time, emphasized that this meeting is also important in terms of the continuity of quality and renewal.

The meeting ended after the participants presented their opinions and suggestions.
