Born in 1967 in Uludere, Prof. Dr. İsmail Reisli completed his primary and secondary education in Ankara and high school education in Gümüşhane. In 1985, he ranked first in Gümüşhane province in the university entrance exam and won the Ankara University Faculty of Medicine and received a scholarship from the Turkish Education Foundation throughout his university education. In 1991, he graduated from Ankara Faculty of Medicine. He fulfilled his compulsory service obligation in Ordu State Hospital Emergency Polyclinic. In 1992, he started his specialty training at Ankara University, Department of Pediatrics and became a Pediatrician in 1997. He worked as a Pediatrician at Ankara Dr. Muhittin Ülker Emergency Aid and Traumatology Hospital. In 1998, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, Selçuk University. Between 1999-2001, he completed his subspecialization in the Department of Pediatric Immunology and Allergy at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine. In 2001, he returned to Konya Selçuk University Meram Faculty of Medicine and established the Department of Pediatric Immunology and Allergy. In 2005, he became an Associate Professor and in 2010 he became a Professor. Between 2018-2021, he served as the Head of the Department of Pediatrics at Necmettin Erbakan University Meram Faculty of Medicine. In 2021, he was appointed as the Accreditation Coordinator of Meram Faculty of Medicine and in 2023 as the Vice Dean of Medicine.
He has around 170 scientific articles published in international and national journals, around 200 papers, and more than 200 national and international panel discussions and conferences. The most important ones among his studies are CD19 deficiency, which he defined in Turkey for the first time in the world and introduced as a “new” immunodeficiency in the medical literature, and his field and carrier studies on this subject, as well as his prevalence and awareness studies on primary immunodeficiencies.
Our Dean Prof. Dr. İsmail Reisli is currently the Accreditation Coordinator of Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Medicine and the Head of the Department of Pediatric Immunology and Allergy.
