Actual Announcement Regarding the 2026 Türkiye Scholarships / Arts Scholarship

Dear Applicant,

In accordance with its mission, vision, and institutional objectives, the Necmettin Erbakan University State Conservatory of Turkish Music is an academic institution providing education exclusively focused on the traditions and disciplines of Turkish music.

Consequently, all instrumental and vocal performance courses within our curriculum are conducted strictly according to Turkish musical instruments, forms, and styles. For instance, should you apply with a Western instrument such as the piano, you will be required—upon successful admission—to continue your primary education with a traditional Turkish musical instrument. Similarly, if you apply with a Western classical repertoire on the cello, your training at our conservatory will transition into Turkish music performance techniques for the cello. It is essential for your artistic development and career goals that your institutional preference aligns with this specialized curriculum.

Furthermore, the theoretical courses in our program—including history and formal analysis—are structured within the framework of Turkish music. Candidates who successfully pass the entrance examinations will receive their academic training within this context.

Accordingly, our evaluation process will focus on recordings that demonstrate your performance proficiency in Turkish musical forms or the traditional/regional music of your own locale. Our scope of interest encompasses a broad cultural geography extending from the Far East to the Balkans, and from Crimea to North Africa and the Arab world. We look forward to receiving excerpts of your traditional or regional performances that highlight your technical and artistic skills.

We wish you the best of luck in your application.
