Art Therapy Workshops for Adults

Our Art Therapy workshop, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülriz AKAROĞLU, will last for 4 weeks, 1 day a week for 3 hours, and is for ages 18 and over; no prior art experience is required! 

These workshops are designed as an experiential space for adults to understand and express their emotions through artistic means such as painting, music, cinema, theatre, storytelling, collage, puppetry, clay, colors, and shapes, and to embark on a journey of inner discovery through art..

Workshop Content;

Week 1 (May 8, 2025, 13:00/16:00) - Getting to Know Each Other and Building Trust:

Expressing emotions through drawings, group dynamics, creating a safe space.

Week 2 (May 15, 2025, 13:00/16:00) - Inner Journey:

Exploring anxiety and feelings of control through freehand drawing and clay work.

Week 3 (May 22, 2025, 13:00/16:00) - Identity and Self:

An inner journey with puppets and moldable materials.

Week 4 (May 29, 2025, 1:00 PM/4:00 PM) - Resilience & Hope:

A forward-looking perspective through theatrical performances, storytelling, and a closing ritual.

Materials to be used:

  • Pastel paint sets
  • Water-based paints and brushes
  • Collage materials (scissors, glue, magazine)
  • Wooden rhythm instruments and hand cymbals
  • Clay and shaping materials
  • Beads, string, colored papers
  • Canvas panels, painting surfaces
  • Pallets and conveyor belts
