Dr. Salih Kalkan was born in 1986 in the Meram district of Konya, Türkiye. He completed his primary and secondary education in Konya and attended Kartal Anatolian Imam Hatip High School in Istanbul from 2002 to 2006. In 2008, he enrolled in the Faculty of Theology at Erciyes University, graduating in 2013. He then pursued graduate studies at the same university, earning a master’s degree (2014–2018) and a doctorate (2019–2024) from the Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Basic Islamic Sciences, Division of History of Islamic Sects. Dr. Salih Kalkan was born in 1986 in the Meram district of Konya, Türkiye. He completed his primary and secondary education in Konya and attended Kartal Anatolian Imam Hatip High School in Istanbul from 2002 to 2006. In 2008, he enrolled in the Faculty of Theology at Erciyes University, graduating in 2013. He then pursued graduate studies at the same university, earning a master’s degree (2014–2018) and a doctorate (2019–2024) from the Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Basic Islamic Sciences, Division of History of Islamic Sects. Alongside his academic work, Dr. Kalkan served as a teacher and administrator in various schools under the Turkish Ministry of National Education from 2014 onward. He has been actively involved in numerous national and international projects as both a researcher and project coordinator. Notably, he participated in a language education project in Jordan in 2018 and conducted doctoral research in India in 2023. In March 2025, he joined Necmettin Erbakan University’s Faculty of Theology as an Assistant Professor (Doctor Faculty Member). In August of the same year, he was appointed Director of the Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (TÖMER) at Necmettin Erbakan University. Since April 2026, he has also been serving as Director of the Rectorate’s Private Office. In addition to his administrative roles, Dr. Kalkan continues to teach undergraduate and graduate courses. His research focuses on modern Islamic thought and contemporary Islamic movements. He has published articles in national and international academic journals, contributed book chapters published by international publishing houses, and presented papers at international symposiums. Dr. Salih Kalkan is married and father of three children.
