Birekul, who received the title of associate professor in Sociology in 2016, received the title of professor in 2021. Prof. Dr. While serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Birekul was appointed Vice Rector of our University on December 30, 2022, in accordance with Article 13 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547. She has authored books including “Social Life and Family in the Days of the Prophet” (Konya / 2001), “Women in the Days of the Prophet” (Konya / 2004), “-Between Fear and Hope- the European Union, Turkey, and Religious Life” (Amsterdam / 2011), and Gift Culture (Istanbul / 2014), as well as numerous national and international articles and presentations in the fields of Sociology of Religion, Sociology of Culture, Sociology of Music, Modernization, Globalization, and Identity, as well as copyrighted works in the same fields.
