Objectives of the Center
Article 5 – (1) The objectives of the Center are as follows:
a) To conduct early identification and assessment, educational services, and research activities related to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
b) To serve as a reference center for the identification and assessment, and education of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
c) To establish and operate clinical and educational units related to Autism Spectrum Disorder.
ç) To provide education in all fields related to Autism Spectrum Disorder.
d) To colloborate with the researchers who aim to research the neurobiological, developmental, and genetic foundations of Autism Spectrum Disorder and to establish research laboratories for developing new diagnostic and treatment opportunities.
e) To organize training programs for educators related to Autism Spectrum Disorder.
f) To collaborate with public and/or private institutions for research and applications related to Autism Spectrum Disorder.
g) To organize workshops for project development and resource creation.
ğ) To create environments for collaboration between medical sciences, educational sciences, and engineering sciences, and to conduct joint studies.
h) To engage in national and international research and development projects, scientific activities, publications, and similar activities in collaboration with public and/or private institutions and organizations, both within the country and abroad.
ı) To develop and implement new models and methods related to the education of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
i) To conduct activities aimed at raising awareness among families and society about Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Areas of Activity of the Center
Article 6 – (1) The Center undertakes the following activities to achieve its objectives:
a) Identification and Assessment Services:
- To establish clinics, outpatient services, and comprehensive diagnostic and treatment teams for early identification and assessment; to ensure the training of specialists such as pediatric neurologists, pediatric neuroradiologists, pediatric neurosurgeons, pediatric orthopedists, physical therapy and rehabilitation specialists, child psychiatrists, ENT specialists, audiologists, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers.
- To carry out all diagnostic and treatment services in line with the objectives of the Center.
- To conduct early-stage education for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families within the Center, and to establish and maintain collaborations with public and private institutions for ongoing education and rehabilitation services.
- To conduct clinical and laboratory research related to Autism Spectrum Disorder or support research conducted by relevant units.
- To carry out joint (affiliated) health and education services with other healthcare institutions when necessary.
b) Educational Services:
- To develop and implement models and methods for the education and training of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- To collaborate with national and international institutions/organizations to transfer and implement models and methods for the education of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- To prepare and implement training programs for educators in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorder education.
- To plan and conduct training programs for parents, caregivers, and other individuals involved in the education of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- To organize activities that promote the social inclusion of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- To provide vocational training opportunities suitable for the abilities of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in advanced age, to develop educational programs in line with scientific and technological advancements for skill acquisition, and to contribute to the University's collaboration with public and private sectors, as well as national and international organizations, to ensure the integration of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder into society.
c) Research Services:
- To conduct all types of fundamental, clinical, individual, or interdisciplinary academic and scientific research activities in line with the objectives of the Center.
- To prepare and implement national and international research and development projects.
- To conduct financial support acquisition activities for research from private and/or public sources.
- To support research activities using the Center's resources.
- To develop experimental models related to Autism Spectrum Disorder and conduct research involving animal studies.
- To organize and conduct congresses, symposiums, workshops, and similar events.
(2) Other activities include:
a) Conducting donation and support collection activities.
b) Engaging in all types of publication activities in line with the objectives of the Center.
c) Creating infrastructure and service environments for national or international faculty exchange programs, student exchange programs, and assistant staff exchange programs; and supporting visiting national or international faculty members, students, or assistant staff.
ç) Organizing national and international meetings and events.
d) Organizing national or international competitions and/or awarding prizes in topics relevant to the objectives of the Center.
e) Conducting or commissioning ethical and scientific infrastructure training.
f) Providing consultancy services related to Autism Spectrum Disorder.
