What is Erasmus+?
The Erasmus+ Programme is a grant programme established by the European Union to provide support in the fields of education, youth, and sports. Implemented during the 2021-2027 period, the programme aims to equip individuals with new skills regardless of their age or educational background, to strengthen their personal development, and to enhance their employment opportunities. The Erasmus+ Programme seeks to improve the quality of higher education and to strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions and with the business world. Students and staff have the opportunity to receive financial support (a grant) for the time they spend abroad within the scope of the programme.
KA131 Programme (Intra-European Mobility)
KA131 Projects are mobility activities carried out in cooperation with higher education institutions holding the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) located in European Union member states and in third countries associated with the programme (North Macedonia, Iceland, Norway, Serbia, Liechtenstein, and Türkiye). Within the scope of this programme:
- Students may study at partner European universities for a period of 2 to 12 months or undertake traineeships at enterprises abroad.
- Academic and administrative staff may benefit from teaching or training activities at institutions abroad.
KA171 Programme (International Credit Mobility Outside Europe)
KA171 (International Credit Mobility) is a programme that supports student and staff mobility through cooperation with higher education institutions located outside the European Union and not associated with the programme (Partner Countries). The main objective of this project is to support the internationalisation and modernisation of higher education institutions outside Europe. KA171 aims to strengthen academic cooperation with countries on different continents, offering students global-level educational experiences while also providing staff with opportunities for international knowledge exchange.
