Seminar
Our vocational school students conducted an awareness training session titled "Leave Value, Not Trash, for the Future: Zero Waste." Our world offers us immense resources, but these resources are not limitless. Every year, tons of waste end up in our seas, forests, and soil, threatening nature. To build a cleaner future, we must avoid waste and support the prevention, reduction, reuse, and recycling of waste. Zero waste is not just about throwing the right waste into the trash can; it's about minimizing waste generation by using resources more efficiently. Under the leadership of our vocational school lecturer, Dr. Şerife Eylül Duman, and as part of the "Environmental and Health Practices" course, our students shared their knowledge about the importance of protecting natural resources and reducing the negative environmental impacts of waste with other students in a classroom activity, raising awareness. We thank our lecturer for her assistance in planning and preparing the event.

Activity
Under the guidance of Lecturer Dr. Şerife Eylül DUMAN, a faculty member at the Vocational School, a project on "Recycling Unused Pharmaceutical Waste" was carried out by first-year students of the First Aid and Emergency Program as part of the "Responsibility Studies" course. This project aimed to promote environmental awareness for sustainable living by recycling discarded medications. Unused or expired medications were collected and delivered to the authorized health center's waste collection center. The collection, transportation, processing, and disposal of such waste are crucial for preventing environmental pollution and safeguarding public health, in terms of protecting natural resources. Through this project, our students strengthened their awareness of environmental health and took a sensitive step towards public health. We would like to thank Dr. Gökhan Dinçer and Nurse Funda Bağcı, who work at the Selçuklu 39 Ova Un Family Health Center, for their contributions to the realization of this event.
