Meram Vocational School Property Protection and Security Department was established in 2013 within Necmettin Erbakan University Seydişehir Vocational School. It has been continuing education and training within Meram Vocational School since 2017.

Today, new developments, new projects and new laws are being created regarding firefighting, and equipped and trained firefighters are needed. In the current system, firefighter recruitment is carried out by the fire department presidency through volunteer applications. In order for the fire department and its units to carry out their activities appropriately, it is mandatory to employ scientifically equipped personnel with the necessary education and skill level. For this reason, it aims to train equipped and trained firefighters.

The purpose of Meram Vocational School Property Protection and Security Department Civil Defense and Firefighting Program is; With the developments regarding Civil Defense and Firefighting, the widespread use of search and rescue units and the increase in measures for natural disasters, the fields of study are expanding day by day. This program aims to provide students with an education that will provide them with command of issues such as fire intervention, environmental protection, etc. in the field of firefighting.

The Civil Defense and Firefighting Program's field of work includes natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, fires, avalanches, landslides, transportation, home and work accidents.
