The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2011 with the aim of having an innovative educational infrastructure, training free-thinking, characterful, intellectual, researcher, entrepreneur, self-confident individuals, and becoming an international reference point with its creativity in the field of research and education. Graduates of the program receive the title of “Mechanical Engineer”.
The aim of this program is to train mechanical engineers who are equipped with up-to-date information in their field, have received a good education and training, can use modern techniques and devices, have basic science, mathematics and programming knowledge and skills for application and advanced research in the field of mechanical engineering, have adopted and implemented lifelong learning, research, examination and development in their professional fields, are determined, can follow professional developments in their field, can follow national and international programs and actively participate, are entrepreneurial, creative, can conduct basic experimental studies related to their field in a laboratory environment when necessary and can evaluate the data obtained and use them in design and operation, have design experience and problem-solving skills, can design alternative systems for solutions, can choose the safest and most economical solutions in terms of applicability, have high written and verbal communication skills, can express themselves in the best way and stand out among their colleagues in the field of work, have self-confidence, have gained the ability to work interdisciplinary, can produce solutions by cooperating with stakeholders, public institutions and industry in professional solutions, and can use the responsibilities given by their profession within the framework of ethical rules.
