III. Gastronomy Education Summit
The "III. Gastronomy Education Summit," hosted by Necmettin Erbakan University and supported by Konya Meram Municipality, was held on June 15, 2026, at the Tantavi Culture and Arts Center of Meram Municipality. The workshop, organized by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yılmaz SEÇİM, Head of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department at Necmettin Erbakan University's Faculty of Tourism, and other faculty members, brought together 70 academics from various universities across Turkey and 10 industry representatives. Meetings were held on topics such as vocational school curricula, industry expectations, and digitalization. The workshop began with opening speeches by Necmettin Erbakan University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hidayet OĞUZ, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Mehmet DEMİREL, and President of the Gastronomy Academics Association Prof. Dr. Hilmi Rafet YÜNCÜ. Following the opening of the workshop, working groups were formed where reports were prepared on curricula, industry expectations, and digitalization, thus concluding the workshop.
