Necmettin Erbakan University (NEÜ) Publishing participated in the London Book Fair (LBF 2025), the second-largest book fair in the world. The fair, which brought together publishers, academic circles, and leading representatives from the digital publishing sector from around the globe, provided NEÜ Publishing with the opportunity to stay updated on the latest developments in university publishing and explore international collaboration opportunities.
The delegation attending the London Book Fair included our Rector Prof. Dr. Cem Zorlu, Rector's Advisor Prof. Dr. Ercan Candan, Publishing Director Dr. Lecturer Fatih Kaleci, and Deputy Publishing Director Research Assistant Muammer Köroğlu.
Throughout the fair, the delegation held meetings with publishers, database providers, distributors, and companies offering digital publishing solutions from various countries, evaluating new collaboration opportunities. Additionally, discussions were held with leading academic publishers such as JSTOR, ProQuest, Edinburgh University Press, and University of Toronto Press to explore cooperation possibilities for expanding the reach of the university’s publications within the international academic community.
The Turkish Ambassador to London, Osman Koray Ertaş, and the accompanying delegation participated in the opening of the Turkish National Pavilion and visited our university's stand.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Cem Zorlu, presented Ambassador Ertaş with newly published books from NEÜ Publishing as a gift. Ambassador Ertaş, in turn, congratulated Prof. Dr. Cem Zorlu for the successful efforts of Necmettin Erbakan University Publishing, which has made significant contributions to representing university publishing, and presented him with a certificate of appreciation.
New Collaboration Opportunities in International Publishing
As one of the most prestigious events in the global publishing industry, the London Book Fair provided a platform for important collaborations in academic and professional publishing. NEÜ Publishing representatives held productive meetings with publishers and industry representatives from countries such as Scotland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and the Philippines, discussing joint projects and publishing rights.
Key Topics at the Fair and Future Steps
The London Book Fair 2025 took place with the participation of 845 publishers from around the world and hosted over 100 seminar sessions. Topics discussed at the fair, including translation publishing, sustainability, copyright, artificial intelligence, and digital content production, were among the sessions that shed light on the future of the publishing industry.
As a result of the meetings at the fair, Necmettin Erbakan University Publishing found opportunities to develop new collaborations, particularly in the fields of international academic publishing, database services, and digital library solutions.
Based on the information gathered and the connections established at the fair, Necmettin Erbakan University Publishing aims to continue its efforts in international projects to strengthen its position in the global academic publishing sector and become more effective in the international academic community.
