CONSTRUCTION DEPARTMENT

Purpose: Our Construction Department-Construction Technology Program is a two-year Higher Education Program that aims to train qualified intermediate staff that the construction sector needs in both production and after-sales service levels in accordance with the philosophy of quality and service that will meet the expectations of the age.

Mission: The Construction Department-Construction Technology Program has adopted the mission of training highly qualified intermediate staff and scientific productivity, who have acquired scientific and technical thinking and analysis skills, who can effectively use the knowledge and skills they have acquired for the benefit of society in every field, who can transfer what they have learned to application areas, who have the ability to work together with other disciplines in the construction sector, who believe in universal values.

Vision: Our vision is to train graduates who are equipped with professional knowledge, contemporary, entrepreneurial, self-confident, and have international knowledge, who can direct and manage the work that needs to be done in office and construction site works, who can develop and implement the strategies needed for this purpose, who are familiar with technology related to their field and can constantly renew them; and who are among the most sought-after technical staff in the business world.

Program Language: Turkish

Admission and Registration Conditions: Determined by ÖSYM in accordance with the relevant legislation of YÖK.

Assessment Principles (Exams):

a) Midterm exam: At least one midterm exam is held for each course in each semester.

b) General exam: The general exam of a course is held at the end of the semester or year in which that course is completed. Students who fulfill the attendance requirement and are successful in the practical applications of the applied courses can take the general exam.

c) Supplementary exam: The supplementary exam of a course is held between the dates specified in the academic calendar after the end of the general exam of that course. Students who have the right to take the general exam but did not take the exam or who did not achieve sufficient success in the exam can take this exam.

ç) Single course exam: Students who have one course left for graduation can take the single course exam to be opened by faculties and colleges within one month following the supplementary exam, if they apply with a petition.

d) Exemption exam: For students who have just registered to the university, an exam is opened at the beginning of the semester for the compulsory foreign language course or for students who have to study in the foreign language preparatory class.

e) Make-up exam: The right to a make-up exam is granted to students who cannot take the midterm exams due to an excuse. Students who are entitled to take the midterm exams but cannot take them, and whose legitimate and valid excuses are accepted by the relevant boards of directors, use their right to an interim exam within the same semester, on the day, place and time determined and announced by the dean's office or the directorate of the higher education institution.

Graduation Requirements: In order for a student to graduate from the program they are registered in, they must have taken and passed all the courses in that program and their graduation weighted grade point average must be at least 2.00. The total ECTS credits in a program are 120 for two-year associate degree programs, according to the credit range determined by the Council of Higher Education according to the higher education qualifications framework for the diploma level and field in which the relevant program is located.

Employment Opportunities: After two years of education, they have the opportunity to find work in the construction sector; real estate appraisal companies in dams, energy production facilities, roads, airports, urban areas, factories, hospitals and all other vital spaces and all infrastructure and construction sites that can make those spaces livable.

Transition to Advanced Programs: Our students who are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam opened by ÖSYM gain the right to enroll in one of the four-year undergraduate programs in the following fields.
