The Department of Field Crops conducts studies and trains technical personnel in four distinct disciplines: Cereals and Pulses, Industrial Crops, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, and Forage Crops & Pastures. The main goal of the department's research activities is to contribute to the healthy and adequate nutrition of people worldwide, and particularly in our country. To achieve this, both basic and applied research is carried out to establish the principles for cultivating field crops with sustainably high yield and quality, especially within the ecological conditions of Central Anatolia. The department is also committed to ensuring that the results of these studies are implemented effectively at the producer level. Our undergraduate students have the opportunity to participate in research projects conducted in the laboratories of our expert faculty members during the academic year and summer months, allowing them to reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practical experience.
