The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design was established in 2013. It comprises two main academic divisions: Interior Architecture and Environmental Design.
The department aims to educate qualified Interior Architects and Environmental Designers who are capable of designing livable interior and exterior spaces based on visual perception, offering solutions that combine aesthetics with functionality, creating interior environments that enhance comfort and quality of life for users, integrating the surrounding environment into their designs, drawing nature into the built space, and harmonizing with traditional arts through the support of science and technology.
The primary objective of the department is to act as a bridge that connects the past with the future, promoting an artistic approach rooted in cultural identity and values within all aspects of urban living. Furthermore, it aims to cultivate designers who can develop functional, aesthetic, original, and environmentally compatible spaces by applying physiological and psychological considerations. These designers are expected to address environmental needs and equipment requirements, while also offering economically viable solutions.
The field of study within the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design focuses on creating spaces that improve quality of life and elevate human health, aesthetic appreciation, and comfort through design. Graduates are equipped to work in architectural and interior architecture offices, landscape architecture studios, and restoration firms.
Career opportunities for graduates include positions in interior architecture and consultancy firms, companies specializing in interior space planning, furniture manufacturing facilities, as well as lighting and stage design projects.
