Geomatics engineers have the opportunity to work in large-scale infrastructure projects such as highways, railways, bridges, dams, subways, and tunnels by utilizing terrestrial and satellite technologies for positioning and developing vehicle tracking systems. They collect data using aerial photographs and satellite images, produce digital and printed maps, and create spatial databases and geographic information systems (GIS). In addition, they play an active role in modern and technological areas such as smart city applications, mobile map services, and 3D city modeling. They also have broad career opportunities in both public and private sectors in fields such as urban and rural land management, zoning, cadastre, expropriation, and real estate valuation.
