Our Vision

At the programme, it is aimed to train intermediate staff who can use the rapidly developing technological applications in the applications of medicinal and aromatic plants in our country. Nowadays, the interest in the use of natural products of plant origin instead of synthetic products in the field of food, medicine and cosmetics in the world and in our country has been increasing in recent years. The programme aims to train auxiliary technical personnel with a basic level of knowledge about the biological and ecological characteristics, usage areas, protection of gene resources, chemical contents and analysis methods, collection from nature, cultivation and protection, processing, usage methods, marketing, quality controls of these plants, which have increasing economic value in the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetics industry, in an interdisciplinary and academic understanding. In today's world where the protection of natural resources of plants used as herbal medicine raw materials, perfumes, dyes and spices is becoming more important, the aim of this programme is to train technical staff who have received academic education on this subject instead of applications based on traditional knowledge. Those who have completed the programme can make vertical transfer to formal education undergraduate programmes since they have the status of two-year associate degree graduate. The current application area in our school provides an environment that integrates research, practice and education, allowing the students of the department to be informed.
