DEPARMENTAL OBJECTIVE

The Department of Accounting and Financial Management aims to educate individuals who possess strong financial knowledge, analytical thinking skills, adherence to ethical values and practical competence. Duration of Education

The duration of the undergraduate program is four years. In addition to theoretical instruction, students are provided with a practice-oriented learning experience through applied courses. This approach aims to ensure that graduates are well-equipped specialists in the fields of accounting and finance.

Mandatory Workplace Training

In the 8th semester, a 14- week mandatory workplace training is implemented. During this period, students gain professional experience by working in accounting offices, certified public accountant firms, public institutions or private sector companies.

Projects and Practical Applications

Applied learning is a fundamental component of our department. Students reinforce their theoretical knowledge through projects supported by accounting software, financial analysis tools and case studies. This process contributes significantly to the development of professional competencies prior to graduation.

Sectoral Collaborations

Our department maintains strong collaborations with accounting firms, certified public accountant offices, auditing companies, public institutions and financial organizations, primarily in Konya and other regions. Within this framework, our students have the opportunity to closely engage with the business world through internships, sector-specific events and career days.

CORE CURRICULUM AREAS

Financial Accounting and Reporting

This area covers the structure of accounting records, fundamental accounting principles, and the preparation and analysis of financial statements such as the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement.

Tax Law and Practices

Students are introduced to the Turkish tax system, including various types of taxes, tax return processes and the alignment of accounting procedures with tax legislation.

Financial Management

Students develop strategic financial decision-making skills related to investment decisions, capital structure, cost of capital, cash management and budgeting within enterprises.

Financial Analysis

Using methods such as ratio analysis, cash flow evaluation and performance measurement, students learn to assess the financial health of businesses through their financial statements.

Cost and Managerial Accounting

This area focuses on the calculation and control of costs in production and service enterprises, including decision-support systems and internal reporting processes.

This area includes International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), foreign currency transactions, financial practices in multinational corporations and alignment with global financial systems.
