An applicant must be a student enrolled at the sending university. Before applying, students are expected to carefully review the departments and courses at NEU to ensure that they match their study plans. To be eligible, the applicant’s home university must have a valid bilateral agreement with Necmettin Erbakan University, and the selected student must be nominated by the home university via e-mail within the nomination deadlines announced by NEU. Students who are accepted and nominated to NEU will be issued an official acceptance letter.

General Requirements for Application

• The department applied for must be covered by the agreement.
• The student may be at BA, MA or PhD level.
• A good command of English language proficiency is required.
• The applicant must meet the minimum academic criteria set by NEU.
• The student must be nominated by the home university via e-mail.

English is the medium of instruction at NEU for this process, and students are strongly recommended to have an adequate level of English corresponding to at least B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. English proficiency test scores are required for the application process and may come either from an internal examination organized by the home university or from an internationally recognized English language test.

The required documents must be submitted to the NEU Erasmus office via e-mail to [email protected] with the required signatures during the nomination process. Nominations will not be considered without these required documents.

Partner institutions are expected to act in line with the European Commission’s principle that the selection process must be fair, transparent and documented, ensuring equal opportunities for all eligible participants. In order to ensure transparency and to meet audit requirements, partner institutions are also kindly asked to send the link to the website announcement for the student mobility call, the list of all applicants and selected beneficiaries with their overall scores, and an official signed document showing the selection criteria determined by the institution. Documents in photograph format are not accepted; clean scanned PDF files are required.

Students selected for Erasmus+ mobility for studies at NEU are required to take at least 30 ECTS courses. Students should check the list of courses in English offered at NEU before preparing their academic plans.

The Learning Agreement for Studies shows the courses students will take at the host institution and their equivalents at the home university. Incoming students are required to submit a Learning Agreement Before the Mobility before starting their studies at NEU. If course plans change, students are expected to submit a Learning Agreement During the Mobility within 4 to 7 weeks. At the end of the semester, students are also expected to complete the relevant recognition documents with their home university, including the Learning Agreement After the Mobility and recognition-related transcript documentation.

According to the relevant regulations mentioned in the correction file, the monthly grant provided to incoming students is 800 Euros. The total support is calculated according to the official semester dates, which correspond to approximately 3.5 months at NEU, and travel support is additionally calculated according to the distance between Konya and the city of the home institution. Students receive 80% of the total amount at the beginning of the semester and the remaining 20% upon successful completion.

Erasmus+ KA171 students must open a Euro account at a branch of Vakıfbank in Türkiye. Erasmus+ grants are paid through these accounts, and it is not possible to transfer the grant to students’ bank accounts in their home countries.

Students should ensure that their passports are valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Türkiye and include a blank page for entry and exit stamps. Visa requirements should be checked through the relevant Turkish authorities before travel.

Foreigners intending to stay in Türkiye longer than the legally permitted duration are required to apply for a residence permit through the official system. Students holding Turkish citizenship, dual citizenship or Mavi Kart are exempt from this requirement. The correction file also states that the European Health Insurance Card is not valid in Türkiye. Students must either register with the Turkish social security system when eligible or obtain private health insurance that meets the required conditions.
