Our Vice Rectors Paid A Visit To Plzen University in The Czech Republic Seeking Collaboration Opportunities

Our Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Aydın and Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün paid a visit to The Czech Republic to improve academic cooperation between two countries. Vice Rectors visited Plzen University, one of the best universities equipped with the strongest technical infrastructure in The Czech Republic, its research laboratories and met the authorized personnel. Together with delegates of Konya Metropolitan City Municipality within delegation they visited the Skoda Transportation Firm where the trams of Konya Municipality are manufactured. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Aydın, evaluating the visit as very efficient said that The Czech Republic which was among old East European countries comes into prominence by its possession of a very technically advanced industrial infrastructure and significant collaborations especially with Germany. He stated that there is a serious cooperation between Plzen University and Skoda Firm especially in the field of R&D (Research&Development) and they plan to build cooperation with Plzen University especially in the fields of energy and mechanical engineering. Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün said the delegation made the visit under the presidency of Ercan Uslu, Deputy General Secretary of Konya Municipality and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk Keser was among the delegates. Prof. Akgün said that talks with Plzen University representatives passed successfully, the signature process both for general cooperation agreement and for Erasmus agreement will conclude in near future and in this way academic staff and student exchange will be able to take effect.
