The Department of Ceramics was established in 2013. It consists of two sub-departments,
which are Ceramics and Glass. It aims to train individuals who will enrich our country in
artistic, industrial and academic fields by blending the experience and knowledge of the
past in the field of ceramics and glass with today's technology and innovations, and
updating the values of our culture according to the needs of the age. The department
aims to educate investigative and productive individuals who will carry the culture of the
past, and art accumulations of the geography they are located in, are fully acquired the
knowledge and skills that the age needs, can compete in the international area with their
superior material knowledge and design skills, and interact and work in the
interdisciplinary fields. The employment areas of the department are private studios and
factories that are engaged in industrial production. Students who graduate from the
department can become researchers, teachers, academics and designers in the fields of
ceramics and glass. They can work in the public and private sectors as well as establish
their own studios.
