About Us

The Department of Traditional Turkish Arts was established in 2013.
It consists of various sub-departments, such as Calligraphy, Illumination and Miniature Art, Painted
Decoration, Old Tile Repair, Binding and Manuscript Repair, Carpet, Rug, and Old Fabric Patterns.
The department aims to train visionary artists, taught by experts in the field of Traditional Turkish
Arts, who have learned their art by its original form and can apply it theoretically and practically.
The Department of Traditional Turkish Arts aims to educate innovative and internationally respected
individuals who not only adopt classical rules but also be sensitive to scientific developments. The
department also aims to carry out traditional arts to the future by transferring it to new generations.
The field of study of The Traditional Turkish Arts is the fields that have artistic value and proceed in a
master-apprentice relationship with traditional methods.
Students who graduate from the department can take part in the private sector, public institutions
and organizations, libraries, museums, and workshops.
