At the Briefing there were TÜBİTAK Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Necati Demir, Rector of KTO Karatay University Prof. Dr. Ömer Torlak, Rector of Mevlana University Rector Prof. Dr. Bahattin Adam, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Tahir Yüksek, our General Secretary Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dursun Yağız, academicians and many academic members.
Briefing started with the speech of TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Yücel Altunbaşak, he spoke of Project Performance Awards as followed: “Anybody within the academic society should be acquainted with Project Performance Award. As TÜBİTAK we reward each qualified and good project with 100 thousand TL. This money is not given to university rather directly to the person who generated the project. I believe in performance. Who works hard and give rise to qualified results should be awarded. Our other programme is to subsidize scientific publication. We developed a system relying on objective data. Together with escalation in quality comes along higher awards and subsidization with it. Quality oriented article owners receive 5 thousand TL as publication grant from us. Every journal is evaluated by neutral criteria. Another support programme of us is “1003-Prioritized Areas Support Programme”. Goal is the medium and macro scale projects. Among universities, Necmettin Erbakan University makes great contributions on the basis of projects. I would like to touch on the subject of Culture of Working in Cooperation. All of us should get to know the culture of working. Therefore, we will decrease gradually our support to the projects done alone, not in cooperation. In this context, cooperation with industry is a necessity. TÜBİTAK, together with private support, gives support to entrepreneurs in foundation of their firms. State demands only the transformation of researches into benefits. Abroad, one out of three academicians is firm-owner. In our country this should be so, too. Grants are from us, namely from state, works and researches are from you, as academicians.”
Our vice Rector  Prof. Dr. Tahir Yüksek, thanked to all attendants, particularly to TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Yücel Altunbaşak and presented him a plate in the name of our University.
