The Department of History was established in 2010. The department consists of six main disciplines: Ancient History, Medieval History, Early Modern History, Modern History, Turkish History, and History of the Republic of Turkey. The History Department aims to train future historians. The objectives of the department are to research and analyze all periods of Turkish and Islamic histories, as well as history of humanity in general, particularly modern periods with a holistic and comparative approach, according to the principles of the discipline within the framework of world history. In addition, it is targeted to train researchers with historical consciousness who can conduct research in the field of history at the undergraduate level, work in archives, libraries and various institutions related to history and humanities.
