History of Department
The Department of Biology Education was established in 1982 under the "Department of Mathematics and Science Education". The department has undergraduate program since 1982-1983 academic year, graduate program since 1993-1994 academic year and doctorate program since 2021-2022 academic year. The Department of Biology Education received its first undergraduate students in 1982-1983 and 40 students graduated in the 1986-1987 academic year. In order to obtain a Biology Teaching undergraduate degree, it is required to have a weighted average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and to successfully complete the teaching practice course. 7 Professors, 1 Associate Professor and 1 Research Assistant teaching actively in the department and continuing their research.
Career Opportunities
The purpose of the Department of Biology Education is to be a department that can produce and share information about Biology education on a universal scale, train undergraduate and graduate students, and adopts continuous innovation as a principle.
Students who graduate from the department can work as teachers in public and private schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. They can pursue an academic career by taking postgraduate education in their field or related fields.
