Department of Foreign Language Education

Arabic Language Education

Brief History

Arabic Language Education program was established in 2018 and accepted students for the first time in 2019. The vision of our program is to train teachers who are competent in the Arabic language and in the fields of language acquisition, language education, and assessment and evaluation. In addition, we aim to equip our pre-service teachers with Arabic literature, Arab geography, and culture.

The undergraduate degree in our program is 4 years. Before they start the program, our students are required to complete the one-year preparatory class successfully. Students who want to skip the preparatory class can start their undergraduate education directly if they get a passing score in the Arabic Language proficiency exam or get 60/100 points in the foreign language proficiency exams offered by the Turkish Higher Education Institution.

Our graduates can work as teachers in public and private schools. Finally, they can follow a post-graduate degree in a relevant field of study, and make an academic career.
